Is the $300 Texas filing fee included?

Yes — and this is unusual. Most attorneys charge $500–$1,500 PLUS the $300 state filing fee. LegalZoom and ZenBusiness advertise low prices then upsell you through checkout. Our $750 is the total cost. Period. You’ll never see another charge from us.

How long does it take?

We file your Certificate of Formation with the Texas Secretary of State within 2 business days of receiving your payment and completed intake. After that, Texas SOS takes over — standard processing is typically 5–10 business days, and expedited filing ($25 additional) usually completes in 1–3 business days. We’ll keep you updated throughout.

Do I need a registered agent?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Texas LLC needs a registered agent with a physical Texas street address. You can serve as your own agent if you have a Texas street address and are available during business hours. Otherwise, you’ll need a commercial registered agent service.

Question 4

What about the BOI filing?

Accepted Answer

As of the latest FinCEN rule (March 2025), domestic U.S. LLCs are exempt from Beneficial Ownership Information reporting. This means you do not need to file a BOI report with FinCEN. We monitor this rule for changes — if it comes back, we’ll let you know.

What if my LLC name is already taken?

We ask for two backup names on the intake form. If your first choice is taken, we’ll use the next available option on your list. If all three are taken, we’ll contact you before filing.

Can I get an S-corp election?

Accepted Answer

S-corp tax elections are outside the scope of this $750 service. Once your LLC is formed, we can refer you to a CPA or tax attorney for that filing, or you can file Form 2553 yourself.

Question 7

What if I change my mind?

Accepted Answer

If you cancel before we submit your Certificate of Formation to the state, you’ll receive a refund of $600 (we keep $150 for intake and document preparation). Once your filing has been submitted to the state, the $300 filing fee is non-refundable, and the remaining fee is considered earned.

Do you form multi-member LLCs?

This service is for single-member Texas LLCs only — sole owners without business partners. Multi-member LLCs involve partnership dynamics that need customized operating agreements (profit splits, voting rights, buy-sell provisions, dispute resolution), so we handle those as traditional custom engagements starting at $1,500.
